About Me
Early 50's, married, two grown children, one dog. Acute pancreatitis following ERCP for dilated common bile duct in January 2002 (3 1/2 weeks hospitalization, very, very sick);abd. ulltrasound, CT, MRI, MRCP - all negative except dilated common bile duct noted; 2nd acute bout in October 2006 (hospitalized X 1 week but not as sick as initial attack); 3rd acute bout in April 2007 (hospitalized X 1 day); Definitely chronic currently; Considering total pancreatectomy with islet cell transplantation, anyone out there interested in this procedure?

Close Pancreatitis
January 2002 - acute pancreatitis following ERCP for dilated common bile duct & 20 lb weight loss; over next 4 1/2 yrs felt generally "unwell", spasm-like pain up & under right rib cage w/radiation to right upper scapular area in back; October 2006 -2nd bout with acute pancreatitis, not as sick as 1st; hospitalized X one week; April 2007 - 3rd bout with acute pancreatitis, not as sick as 2nd; hospitalized X 1 day; Since that time - Apparently acute has gone to chronic with frequent "attacks".
