Journal Entry for August 23, 2007 Mood

These lyrics are dedicated to my friend, DJM.

Soldier's Poem

Artist:  Muse

Throw it all away
Lets lose ourselves
Cause there's no one left for us to blame
It's a shame we're all dying
And do you think you deserve your freedom?

How could you send us all far away from home?
When you know damn well that this is wrong?
I would still lay down my life for you.

And do you think you deserve your freedom?
No, I don't think you do.

There's no justice in the world.

There's no justice in the world.

And there never was.

Cheery stuff (sarcasm), but true. The poor are always getting f--ked over by the rich. I don't think any of us has really earned our freedom until we've shed a bit of our own blood to get it.

Good point Kool - I agree. I thank my lucky stars that others (our military) sleep in the dirt so that I may sleep safely in my bed (or couch, as the circumstance may be...)
