DECISION

We just got home from the surgeon's office. This doctor was awesome. I think it pays to have a woman doctor's input when it comes to something like breast cancer. She advised Shelley to go with the lympectomy and radiation. She said it's so early and so small that it is a bit premature to consider a mastectomy. Like she said, you can always do that later if it's necessary, but once you have it done, you can't put it back. I can't even begin to tell you how relieved I am and Shelley is like a new person. She is very comfortable with this decision. She was ready to do whatever was necessary, but I know that she is like every other woman who is diagnosed....she prefers to keep her own breast if possible. We had just an awesome day. I woke up happy this morning and to be honest, I haven't felt that was in a very long time. I had the feeling that today would bring something good...and it did. We went out to lunch and then walked through a greenhouse/nursery and enjoyed the flowers. Then we went to the doctor. Her assistant had been so kind to me on the phone the other day and was just as nice to us today. She was extrememly helpful as well. After I dropped Shelley off at home she called me to say that she had received her Medicaid approval in the mail!!! It was supposed to take 45 days for the review and it's HERE. I just knew that God would provide as He always does. I just had to give Him time to do it in His way....I don't know what I would ever do without my faith. That's all for now, but it's the BEST news I have had in a long time. Thank you all SOOOO much for your faithfulness in praying for Shelley. It means the world to me.

I am so happy that Shelley has made a decision and that this doctor has high hopes of beating it without such a radical procedure even though it's what I would have agreed to if I had been told by the doctor that it was the best move.Second opinions can be so valuable.I hope this takes care of everything!!

Such good news! Our prayers are being answered! Same here....don't know what I'd be without the Lord to turn to. I feel very relieved for Shelly.
