About Me
I am a mother of 6 very special children. I have been looking for a support group to help us learn more about bipoliar disorder adn FAS, a few of the children are dealing with these and have had other problems as well before coming to live with us.

Close Sexual Abuse
I am raising a boy who was sexually abused by his mother. He has lived with me for almost 2 years. Not one thing has been done to the mother, as a matter of fact we are going to court tomarrow to fight for custody against the mother. Welfare placed him with us but hte judge could decide to return the child. This is the most outragious thing that I have ever heard. What kind of a society do we live inthat a parent can sexually abuse a child and never be arrested or face a judge an jury?

Close Crohn's Disease & Ulcerative Colitis
I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis about 5 years ago. I had been eating a diet of whatever. I switched and stoped eating red meat and have ot flaired up in two years. I would love any information on things that have helped others. My grandfather just passed away from colon cancer and that scares me alot.
Treatments
- Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Working / Worked
- This seems to be working the best.
- Colazal Somewhat Helpful
- I still have to watch what I eat and drink.
Open Fetal Alcohol Syndrome
I have a young child that has lived with our family for almost 2 years that has FAS. He has had a lot of struggles and we are looking for some support.
Treatments
- Focalin Not Working
- We took him off because it caused him to do self harming.
Open Autism / Autism Spectrum
Our son was diagnosed with autism about a year ago. He has been living with our family since 2006 and had a very hard life before coming to us. We are looking into different options but there are just so many behavioral issues that we sometimes get lost in that.
Treatments
- Behavior Management Somewhat Helpful
- We have a behavioral therapist that works with us in our home and at school and she is able to give us a lot of advise.
- Brushing Therapy Too Soon to Tell
- We just got started.
- Occupational Therapy Somewhat Helpful
- We find that this is helping with his muscles and helps with writing and communication skills.
- Play Therapy Somewhat Helpful
- We use play therapy, but sometimes he does not respond very well.
