Mother of 20 y.o. daughter with bipolar disorder. Her dad, my 1st husband died when she was a year old, cocaine related heart attack. He was 26. His sister, heroin addict, committed suicide 2 years later. Both were very likely untreated bipolar. I raised her as a single parent and married again when she was 14, and also have a 5 y.o. daughter with my husband.

LOL! We do what we can when we can! It's nice to know that someone like you is out there that has the foresight to keep the peace and yet still keep their sanity. You have been a role model in this area to me. I hope your 'vacation' includes a little time for yourself and that you come back refreshed.
You read my mind! Yes, it is funny..but I have been reading your contributions lately & nodding in agreement :) xx

Hello, thank you for your reply on Paxil. I really appreciate it. My husband left a year ago and has turned a cold shoulder on me trying to explain it to him. He says that "too much has happened". It is a shame. Thank you again for reading and the kind words.
TY again, and best wishes for your daughter. It's good that she's been diagnosed properly and has something to help her if she needs it. I hope that can happen for my son.
(Note: the meds listed below are the ones my daughter has taken) Mother of 20 year old BP daughter. Trying to assist her in getting help. She is in crisis right now, willing to get help, but her insurance wont pay for inpatient.
43 y.o. mother of 20 y.o. daughter with bipolar disorder, diagnosed 5 years ago. Her dad, my 1st husband, died when she was 1 year old, he was very likely BP, but self med. with cocaine, which caused heart attack and killed him. Remarried 6 years ago and also have 5 y.o. daughter. I have depression, and some ADD. Also have 50 y.o. brother with BP.
43 y.o. woman, mentioned to my doc that my mother had a heart attack at 38... he had my cholesterol level and Lipoprotein (a) checked. Regular cholesterol 230... not terribly scary, put me on Crestor. Lipoprotein (a), supposed to be under 25... my level was 225!!! Put me on Niaspan. Trying to also change diet. I am 5ft2, 130 lb, and thought I was in good health!
43 y.o. mother, dx with depression for about 10 years, 20 y.o. daughter with bipolar disorder, 5 y.o. daughter and a husband, :~)
Born with eczema, outgrew after about age 10, until my mid 20s, then from head to foot chronic eczema for 3 years. Tried lots of medical treatments. Then, got treated for Depression, was on an antidpressant for 3 weeks, and the eczema disappeared! for about 8 years. Reoccurred a couple of years ago, after having another baby, and some new stressors. Under control now. I think it was like an ulcer, stress related.
Hi, my 1st husband was addicted to cocaine, and died from a cocaine related heart attack at 26. Our daughter was 13 months old. She is now 21, and has Bipolar Disorder. She is not a drug user, but has recently found her live in BF is addicted to heroin. Ironic. I am sort of addicted to her and she's addicted to him!
