fathers day dinner Mood

So I had the wonderful idea that I would throw a big BBQ for all the fathers in my life. My father in law, my two sons, son in law, my ex husband and of course my hubby. Well I did it up right. I did pork spare ribs, pork tender loin, beef tender loin, T bone steaks, and steamed shrimp. For the side I made baked potatoes, fresh corn on the cob, baked beans, tossed salad, mac and cheese, pasta salad, and a cake for desert. I was suppose to have my family that totals 19 of us. Then my son in laws mother, sister and niece show up. That makes 22 of us. Not to worry I always make enough to feed an army. I'm running around like a mad women and everyone else is sitting around the pool. Son in laws mother, is drinking and laughing her ass off. Ok thanks for the help, you weren't even invited!! Bad Joni bad. Ok be nice. Everything gets done and fathers get in line first. Hey it's all about them today, so the rest of the crew stagers in to make their plates. Of course I'm last to get my plate, always the good hostess. I do love entertaining. Ok I'm not doing the clean up. Laughing son in laws mother finishes up her dinner and is ready to go. Once she fills her belly she wants to go home and lay down. Ok thanks for the help lady,,,bad Joni bad,,, but like the great daughters that they are my daughters and daughter in laws get moving on the clean up. I bring out the cake and cut it up. Oh now Miss laughing her head off wants to stick around and have some cake. We all eat cake and sit around the pool again (yes I finally get to sit down). I go into the house to do something and come out and everyone is cleaning up chairs and ready to go. Of course, I finally get to sit and chat and they are all ready to go. Oh well I'm tired anyway so see ya'll next time there a special occasion and "guess who" will put together another get together. HAPPY FATHERS DAY. What happened on Mothers Day.....I COOKED FOR EVERYONE!! SUCH IS LIFE.....OK THANKS FOR LISTENING I FEEL BETTER NOW. And thank God we finally got a little rain. I even went outside and stood in it a few minutes ago. It felt so good. I really am blessed to have this great family. I'd do it all again tomorrow if I could....X'S AND O'S EVERYONE

Joni...I'm laughing as I read this (yet sympathizing with you) because it sounds like something from my family...lol. Yes, we keep doing it and will do it again but it is a lot of work that sometimes goes unnoticed. You're a wonderful person to do that for the all the dads in your life. Too bad laughing lady didn't know enough to lend a hand.

As far as your rain...hey, I got some for ya...lots and lots of it...lol

Joni, what a major drag! I'n sorry I didn't realize how much you had to go through this past Sunday. I know I mentioned this but I truly think you would

You go girl! Good job on doing all of that for your family and UNINVITED people. You know, I always prayed for my kids future spouses even when they were little. They both marrried great people...but I neglected to pray for them to have great in laws-so everyone out there pray for that too! My daughter is just the sweetest thing, and she has a mother in law from Hell! She keeps trying and always has a smile, and this women is just plain mean! We nick named her MJ -her name is Jean, and the M stands for MEAN! LOL Then I had to add a B! MJB Mean Jean the %itch! It all started the day she got married. MJ -told her son he did not have to go through it! She has issues that she seems to need to dump on others...so sad, she could enjoy herlife right now, and she just chooses to be ugly about things. Anyway, I know you are an excellant mom and mom-in-law....you will get plenty of coupons redeemable in Heaven someday for all you do for you family and for others! God bless-and thank you for always being here for the people here, even when you are so busy.

You are so good hearted..I would have probably made a comment in jest but meant seriously ..you worked so hard all that yummy food and i know you were excellent company...I hope everyone REALLY appreciated all the work you put into such a fabulous day. hey...the most important thing is ..You enjoyed doing it..right??? xoxox
