Had a rough day yesterday but.... Mood
Wednesday, July 16, 2008 | An Inspiring story

Yesterday I did have a rough day, but my Daddy came to my rescue and I felt better within minutes.

He's the best Daddy in the world.

This morning I feel good, not great but better.

My father will be coming here to set up their RV, my mom will be coming for a vacation here and relax as long as she wants.

I am so happy that she will be just here on my property, we can actually have our morning coffee outside on her patio, they have this great set up, with the top where we can be protected by the sun.

I can't wait, it will be good for both of us.

I will try to walk to my son's house with her, I don't dare do it alone, so I will bring my cane, yes a cane, I hate it, and if a car comes our way, I will pretend it's a stick to get rid of dogs if they come near us, I am to shy to actually use it as a cane but need it very much especially if I'm going to try this, walk to my son's house from my home.

This is a big challenge that I have been thinking of for a while now, and with my mom being there I feel more secure at attending this challenge.

Wish me luck.

Daddy's are always there when we need them, aren't they! I'm so glad he came to your rescue McKenzie! Happy Birthday to you my friend and don't you fret about the cane; it is nothing to be embarrassed about. My dad got polio when he was 39 years old and he had to use leg braces and crutches to walk for the rest of his life. He held his head high and never complained and never let it embarrass him. He did everything an able-bodied man could do but it just took him longer. Anyway...have a lovely day with your Mom and Dad and I wish you strength on your walk today!

Didn't know you were having a hard time either, sorry to hear that. I wish I could be there to carry you if need be. I love my father more than anyone in the world. At 72 he stills goes to work every day and without him I would not have most of the things I have now. We talk every day and without him I would be lost. We are both lucky to still have our fathers. Wish me and my dad could join you guys. Happy Birthday.

Mckenzie I am so glad that your father showed up in your time of need. That is nice to hear your mom will be with you on this challenge. You can do it. You have her and God watching over you.Have a wonderful visit with your parents. I will be looking for and update on the walk to your sons. Know don't push it to much lady. Take slow and enjoy your moms company as you go to your brothers. There is nothing wrong with a cane. You need to get one of those cool walking sticks made from tree limbs that hikers use. Maybe that will make you feel less self conscience. Hugs.

Hey Mac, sometimes it's one step at a time too. Don't want to let pride go before the fall :) if you need a cane use it , if you need a crutch use it , if someone has to push you around in a dang wheelbarrow let them. Give and you receive. Start receiving you have given much, but your work is left undone, your heart tells us this and you know you must do what you do, but if you need a cane and are too shy to let strangers see a sign of weakness, MAC, C'MON, how are we to carry on :). Being afraid is nothing that you have been a stranger to, Being stuburn for a cause is you, being stuburn for PRIDE, is sooo not you. Me yea, but not you :). I may have a box of rocks in my head but you my dear do not. I have been reading your stuff and you are wise beyond your years, I meen it, pride does go before the fall, I am a living testament to that :). Now be that as it may, how's things.
Keep on, keeping on, you know the drill.
There was a crooked man who walked a crooked mile, he had crooked cane and smiled a crooked smile. Luv ya lots.
    Pete
