      Sorry to hear that things are not going well. Could you maybe try and see if the doc could see you sooner? That's what I would do if it was getting that bad. I hope they can determine the cause and hopefully there is a non-surgical solution. Keep me posted. I'll say a prayer. {{{HUGS}}}

    • Close Back Pain

      Started with a herniation at L5-S1 back in '81. Was the same on MRI in '98. Eight years later, in'06, I now have only 1 normal disk left. Most of my trouble and pain emminates from severe degeneration of the disk space and facet joints at L3-4. On top of that, I now have scoliosis due to all the collapsed disks. Ha a PLIF procedure done 1/17/08. Went well, but had a setback on the 5th and ended up back in the hospital for 3 days with severe back spasms.

      Treatments

      Bedrest Somewhat Helpful
      Helping some now, but only SINCE surgery.
      Carisoprodol Somewhat Helpful
      only since surgery 1/17/08
      Cortisone (Injection) Somewhat Helpful
      Darvon Somewhat Helpful
      Only helping some sincve 1/17/08 fusion.
      Epidural Injection Somewhat Helpful
      Flexeril Not Working
      No help Pre-Sx
      Heat Not Working
      Hydrocodone Not Working
      NO help pre-SX
      Massage Working / Worked
      Is working now that I finally have them working over the deep paralumbar muscles where all the spasms have been post-op.
      Naproxen Not Working
      Still on it for all the other arthritica and inflammatory conditions...
      Physical Therapy Somewhat Helpful
      Starting to help now with the proper massage and a particular eletrical stimulation method.
      TENS Not Working
    • Close Sleep Apnea

      Been on XPAP for 7 years. Was diagnosed as Severe OSA and moderate CSA with 90 disruptions per hour at that time.

      Treatments

      CPAP Working / Worked
      Started on CPAP at 13cm. Now on APAP with average running at 10.8cm.
    • Open Degenerative Disc Disease
