Close Crohn's Disease & Ulcerative Colitis
I am a paramedic/firefighter who has been unable to work for five years now due to illness and injury. I have worked in an urgent care clinic for a few years off and on inbetween illness flares. I am married to a Navy Chaplain. I have three daughter's one of which has already been diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome. This was my initial diagnosis. I have been in the medical field a long time. I am looking forward to talking to those like me who know how horrible all of this can be.
Treatments
- Colazal Somewhat Helpful
- It worked as long as I never went off of it and then I still had flares inbetween time
- Entocort Somewhat Helpful
- This is the only steroid that I have been able to tolerate. I am 40 pounds heavier but that is one of the side effects.
- Librax Working / Worked
- This is the drug they gave me with my initial diagnosis of irritable bowel syndrome
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- Had horrible side effects including abnormal labs results
