Close Fibromyalgia
I've had symptoms since childhood, but what turned them into full blown FM was a car accident I was in 12 years ago. Bad whiplash.
Treatments
- Aqua Therapy Working / Worked
- I did exercises prescribed by a PT in a heated pool, then soaked in the hot tub afterwards. It was wonderful. Unfortunately, my insurance only covered a finite number of sessions.
- Guaifenesin Somewhat Helpful
- Zoloft Somewhat Helpful
- I was on the minimum dose (25 mg) of Zoloft for about a year. It did help with my sleep, but I felt drugged all the time. I went off it in preparation for a future pregancy.
- Reiki Working / Worked
- One hour of Reiki works wonders! No major side effects other than dealing with any negative emotions it brings up.
- Chiropractic Adjustment Working / Worked
- I go once a month, and the adjustment and the roller table usually help loosen things up.
- Myofascial Release Working / Worked
- Very painful at first, but I felt a huge difference in my neck/shoulders afterwards.
- CranioSacral Therapy Too Soon to Tell
- Tried it once, and I think it did help.
Close Family & Friends of Bipolar
My Dad has had Bi-Polar Disorder since he was a teenager. He is now almost 72. My parents have been married for 36 years (1/2 of his life), and I am their only child. My Mom has done an awesome job keeping the family together and advocating for my Dad. On top of the Bi-Polar, 2 years ago, he fell and broke his hip.
