About Me
DH (Mike) and I were married on May 7, 2005. We immediately started TTC. We've completed 5 IUI's & 2 1/2 IVF cycles. We feel blessed that we have our Christian faith to help us through each day. We have 3 furbabies: 2 kitties & a Golden Retriever. Recently moved from Shakopee, MN to Smithfield, NC.
Interests
I'm passionate about Photography, Scrapbooking & Scuba diving. We love to travel and especially go on cruises. Currently, all traveling is put on hold until funds are replenished. For our honeymoon, we went to Walt Disney World. It was my 9th trip to WDW and DH's 1st trip. I had a blast surprising him with lots of special disney touches.

Close Uterine Cancer
DH and I started TTC in July 2005 when my OB/Gyn sent me to a Reproductive Endocrinologist in 12/05. The RE found a polyp, we did a D&C w/ Hysteroscopy in January 2006. The results came back indicating Endometrial Cancer. DH & I decided to try using a drug called Megace instead of a hysterectomy (recommended action). After 3 months on Megace, the cancer went into remission. I continue to be in remission and we are still TTC.
Treatments
- Megestrol Working / Worked
- Worked great. Didn't have any of the horrible side effects. Actually, felt the best I've ever felt and lost 70 lbs.
Close Diabetes Type 2
Dx w/ Type 2 diabetes in July 2005. Both my parents also have Type 2 and am very familiar with the disease.
Treatments
- Metformin Working / Worked
- Physical Exercise Working / Worked
- Go to Gym. Lost 70 lbs, but I've gained about 30 lbs back due to Infertility Treatments.
Open Hypothyroidism
Dx in 2001. I took a year to get my TSH, T3 & T4 levels under control. Armour along with Levothyroxine was the answer.

Open Adoption
Type: Open AdoptionTTC for 3 years. 3 IVF cycles and 5 IUI cycles. Only one pregnancy that ended in a miscarriage during an IUI cycle. We are now looking into adoption
Open Thyroid Cancer
Type: Papillary CarcinomaJust diagnosed with having a thyroid nodule highly suspicious of Papillary Carcinoma on August 18th. Surgery to remove the right lobe is scheduled for 9/10/08. They are also going to biopsy the left lobe and remove it at the same time if it shows any cancer.
Open High Cholesterol
My TT Cholesterol is high around 260. Currently, my goal is to loose weight and hopefully bring it down to a healthier range via natural means including diet and exercise. Last time I lost 75 lbs. and managed to get my Cholesterol just within the high normal range. We hope to breastfeed once we adopt an infant so Dr. decided to try natural methods first.
