Open Degenerative Disc Disease

I developed back problems in 2003 but at the time the dr's only did an x-ray. It wasn't until after a car accident in 2005 and much increased pain did they do an MRI which showed two herniated discs as well as disc degeneration. Since then I've had constant pain down my right leg and have no answers as to how to make it better. Recently found out that I have quite a bit of nerve damage in my right leg indicating siatica.

Open Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

I've had IBS for years, though it seems under control at the moment because I really watch what I eat and try and keep my stress levels down.

Treatments

Bentyl Working / Worked

Used to use this, but no longer on it. Found it to be very helpful with making the cramps go away.

Zelnorm Working / Worked

Used this twice and it helped a great deal, but was told I could no longer take it because it hasn't been used in treatment for more than 12 weeks of use so the dr decided it wasn't safe to continue to use.

Open Families & Friends Of Addicts

My father has been on drugs (pot all my life and in the last few years crack). It breaks my heart to see the pain it puts my mom and sisters through and to see what it's done to him. I started going to Alanon last year when he attempted rehab and have continued to go and find that it's helped my life a great deal.

Al-Anon Working / Worked

I have been going since November last year and it's changed my life.

Talking Working / Worked

Talking about it (espeically in Alanon) helps get it out of me and better understand what's going on.

Writing Working / Worked

I keep a journal as well as a blog and I write poetry occasionally, it's a great release.

Open Sciatica

Have two herniated discs in my back that has caused sciatica in my right leg.

Treatments

Stretching Somewhat Helpful

I stretch often also because of fibro, but it seems to help overall.
