37 years old, married to Rich for 18 years, lots of pets (cats mainly) and diagnosed with MS on April 12, 2007. We have no human children, suffered for years from endometriosis which left me unable to conceive.

Close Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
Type: Relapsing-remitting MSDiagnosed with MS on April 12 2007 after an MRI showed more lesions. Symptoms for a min. of 15 years prior. as of 11/28 diagnosed as another flare-up.
Treatments
- Baclofen Working / Worked
- currently taking 20mg 3xday
- Copaxone Somewhat Helpful
- I stopped taking Copaxone because it made me feel really bad, depressed and just sicker than without it Stopped taking it middle of March 08
- Cymbalta Working / Worked
- 60 mg per day, working wonderfully this time around. Helps with depression and neuropathy type pains.
- LDN - Low Dose Naltrexone Not Working
- I didn't take it long enough to see if it worked, due to neuropathy and pain issues, I couldn't go without pain medication for too long.
- Neurontin Working / Worked
- Started Nov. 27 for leg pain, was working until I reach max dosage, then had to switch.
- Physical Therapy Not Working
- Did not help my balance
- Provigil Working / Worked
- I was awake for 2 days with just the first dose.
- Rebif Not Working
- I suffered 2 relapses while on Rebif, horrible side effects, liver tests abnormal after use
- Rozerem Somewhat Helpful
- Helped insomnia somewhat, was in addition to other drugs
- Solumedrol Working / Worked
- Rec. dose by accident, worked wonderfully, but I am allergic to it
- Trazodone Working / Worked
- Helps with the insomnia. Levels vary
- Tysabri Too Soon to Tell
- Started April 23, 2008. Third infusion has passed. First 2 were ok, third one caused increase in pain and I slept that afternoon and the next day.
Close Chronic Pain
I have MS and chronic pain that is progressing in intensity, mainly affecting my muscles and joints.
Treatments
- Cymbalta Working / Worked
- Currently taking, 60 mg, is working for neuropathy
- Heat Somewhat Helpful
- Depends on type of pain and area
- Hydrocodone Not Working
- same as Oxycodone
- Lidoderm Not Working
- for low back pain, never worked
- Lyrica Somewhat Helpful
- worked initially, then became ineffective within 2 months
- Marijuana Working / Worked
- Its actually Marinol, the legal version you can get with prescription. Has been a wonder drug. Best by far.
- Morphine Working / Worked
- Currently on MS contin 15 mg 2x day, working great!
- Neurontin Working / Worked
- same as Lyrica... stopped working at max dose after only 2 months
- Oxycodone Working / Worked
- You name them, I've taken them.
Open Endometriosis
First symptoms of Endo at age 14, (started my cycle at age 13). Suffered for year with it, tried pill and other meds, the only thing I found relief from the pain with was a complete hysterectomy.
Treatments
- Surgery Working / Worked
- Total Abdominal Hysterectomy in 2005.
Open Kidney Stones
Kidney stones present since 2003, 2 surgeries so far (last one 1/08) and presently having 2 kidney stones again.
Treatments
- Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Somewhat Helpful
- Avoiding coffee, which is the hardest to do for me
- Surgery Working / Worked
- Worked, but was painful with the stent in there. Last surgery was 1/8/08
Open Diverticulitis
First time diagnosed in July of 2007, second in November 2007 and 3rd time in June 2008.
