I suffered from uncontrolled epilepsy since childhoon, I had a left temporal lobectomby done June 26th, 2008.
Interests
I enjoy travelling, doing crafts. I collect teddy bears (especially boyds bears).

Thanks for the hug Karen. Yeah, you're right it is frustrating having the computer down, but I come into the library when I get the chance and play catch up, at least for a little while. Just keep plugging away..........it will get better in time! Love and hugs, Lorraine :)

Seems like it's been ages since we chatted Karen. Glad to hear that you are improving, even if it is slowly! Just keep on hanging in there. I'm doing okay thanks. My Children and I layed their Father to rest on July 1st of this year! He died with Sarosis of the Liver ! I have to admit, my life has been quite empty and sad since ! Other than that, I'm doing quite fine! Did the operation take care of all of your seizures? Let me know! Take Care, Dear ! Kim

Febrile convulsion at 11monts. Diagnosed with epilepsy at 5years old, grew out of seizuresat 11 years old, at age 18 they came back have been uncontrolled since with the use of many different AEDs. I went through a 3 years period that Drs felt it was a psychological issue. Had testing in January and confirmed surgery was the most hopeful solution. Had a left temporal lobectomy June 27, 2008.
Treatments
- Ativan Somewhat Helpful
- Use for sleep, but seems to help with seizures
- Clobazam Not Working
- did not work
- Keppra Not Working
- Tried it and had very negative side effects (suicidal thougths)
- Surgery, Brain Too Soon to Tell
- Had left temporal lobectomy June 27, 2008
- Tegretol Working / Worked
- Currently on it - has reduced seizures but not in complete control. Find myself to be very tired in afternoon.
- Topamax Working / Worked
- Was removed from drug because of behavioural changes and it did not control seizures.
