Cory
I'm SOO happy! I have a new boyfriend, Cory. He's so sweet and gentile and kind. I care about him so much and …
he whispers softly
in her tender ear
words of love,
words of deceit
he whispers what
she wants to hear
knowing that his
heart is far away
not near hers
knowing that her
fragile,
badly bruised heart
loves him for
all that he is not worth.
When he leaves
as he had always
planned on doing,
she cries out in pain
longing for his
tender touch,
the lies that once
stood between
them and the truth
because that is all
she knows
and all she wants
to know in her life.
She takes the razor
to her scarred and
battered arm,
places it on the
frail skin and slow
draws a horizontal line
just for him,
it was always just for him.
The blood flows quicky
and she panics
knowing what she has done
but is too helpless,
too weakened by the
tears of blood
to stop what is
and what will be
her final act.
I wrote this a couple of days ago, and although it is dark, it is one of my better poems and thought I would share it with you.
