I have a wonderful husband, 2 kids who have turned out well, 4 amazing grandchildren and a God who truly loves me and has "rewarded" me for surviving the first 46 years before I met my husband Erich. I survived near death twice last fall with a catastrophic illness and am still hoping for the return of energy. I love my home & life really for the first time...I am not searching for more. My main goal at this time is to lose 60 lbs & get back to "pre-illness condition. Thank you for the opportunity to make new friends!!!

Well, LAST Oct. I went in ER w/kidney stone attack. They attached a catheter, gave me delaudin & sent me home w/Oxycontin. I was functioning but remember nothing. 3rd day I began vomiting black...passed out by time we got to hospital & had gone septic. I went down 1 in ER then again in OR 2 days later. I was in a coma for 2 weeks & also got e-coli, staph, merc, pneumonia, blood clot & was DIC. Not a fun time & should not have happened. Never let them send you home with a catheter!!
I had a catastrophic illness just a year ago & actually died twice. Yea..I'm still here. In the year of recovery I have put on about 40 lbs. I was about 20 lbs overweight before getting sick.. Everyone all year has brought food, food, food & urged me to just concentrate on getting well (not getting fat). I now feel that I am READY and have been on MY diet for 5 days. I have purchased scads of "Smart One" Healthy Choice & Lean Cuisines & I'm raring to go!!
I had a catastrophic illness last year that nearly took my life--twice! Now with trying for a year to recoup...I have gained about 50 lbs. I now need to lose 60 lbs. Food was my constant, my favorite friend that ALWAYS stayed with me. Our women's ministry brought meals for 30 days when I got home & church ladies can surely cook! For the last year I've been trying to get back where I was before the coma, organ failure, staph infections & sepsis. Oh and a blood clot thrown in! so here I am!
