    I am a 21 year old college student. I joined DS in October 2007 and since then I have been working on losing the 71 pounds I put on in the past couple of years. I am super excited to be able to share my long, hard, weight loss journey with others. =) My motto (found on a receipt from a sushi place): "Eat well, Live well, be happy ;)"

    Interests

    I love reading, watching Food Network with my boyfriend, good food (why did I choose to be with a chef??)catching up on celebrity gossip, and working on my weight loss goals.

      From Sept 2006- October 2007, I gained over 70 pounds. I joined DS in October '07 and lost 13 pounds by the end of the year. I got serious about it at the beginning of this January and since January 3, I have lost an additional 53 pounds. I'm still working at it. I hope to get to my goal weight by the end of June.

      Treatments

      Eat Less Working / Worked
      I go by the 'you bite it you write it' mentality. I write down EVERYTHING I eat plus I count my calories in my food log.
      Physical Exercise Working / Worked
      I am working out quite hard, doing lots of running and the stairmaster at the gym. I also swim and do the elliptical as well, in addition to weight lifting.
      Slim-Fast Working / Worked
      It's my thing for 2 out of 3 meals. I pair it with snacks (fruit, granola bars, etc) and then have one big meal. It's working out well!
      Weight Watchers Working / Worked
      I lost 17 pounds on weight watchers prior to my 70 pound weight gain. I didn't like the points. Calories are WAY easier to count.

      I was a talented competitive swimmer since age 9. At 20 I decided I was over it and was completely burned out. 11 years no breaks. Once I stopped, I gained over 70 pounds. Nowdays, I am a workout maniac! :) I do a LOT of running, stairmaster, and weight lifting, with occasional swimming and elliptical.

      Elliptical Trainer Working / Worked
      I do the 'himelayan trek' and it whoops my butt EVERY TIME. :)
      Running Working / Worked
      I LOVE IT! I am running in my neighborhood/around my city and the scenery really helps the time pass quickly during the long runs.
      Slim-Fast Working / Worked
      I am combining the Slim Fast plan with exercising and it's going really well! I hate preparing food so it's nice to grab a shake and go.
      Swimming Working / Worked
      I'm trying to swim a little bit now, just to mix things up.
      Weight Training Working / Worked
      I work on toning up my arms and back. I use 15 lb dumbells along with the bench press.

      I have been with my boyfriend for 20 months, and we are very happy. But we both are always looking to improve and strengthen what we have

      Brian attended my premarital class that I was taking last semester. I loved that and we learned a LOT.

      I am the most impatient person in the world. I want to talk, to resolve, to fight, or whatever NOW. I never wait things out.
