      thanks so much for your post in the shy group. i am 47 years old and starting to work on my shyness because i am so tired of it running my life. one particular problem i have that bothers me is not being able to talk in my alanon meetings. i don't want to stop going but being so nervous and not being able to talk makes me feel too uncomfortable. any suggestions?

      I was a shy child and am the mother of an ex-shy daughter so I know how painful it can be to be shy. I also know that it doesn't have to be that way! I am a nurse, health educator, shyness coach and author of Don't Call Me Shy which helps shy individuals change the way they think of themselves from "I can't because I'm shy" to "I CAN br social if I try." I have studied shyness all my life and have interviewed hundreds of shy children and adults. I am here to offer guidance and support.
