Friday, July 18, 2008 | A General Update story

I have news! I got an email from a publishing company that showed interest in my manuscript. They saw it on the website I was on and contacted me last night. Unfortunately, I'm not going to go with them because they want me to give THEM money. And from what I've heard from other people, that's not the way it's supposed to work.

I looked on their website last night and their business plan just didn't make sense to me. If anything though, it showed me that publishing companies ARE looking at me and taking notice. So, I'm excited about that right there! But, this publishing company just didn't sound right to me.

Hopefully, and prayerfully, I'll hear from more people in the near future. I'm continuing to work on my second book and I'm enjoying every minute of it.

My jewelry business is really starting to turn into that: a business! So yay for that too.

Please, continue to keep me in ya'll's prayers about my book and everything and if any of you have any experience in the author/publishing world, PLEASE give me any advice you might have.

well just keep your hopes up. in time the right one will find you. just keep looking and dont get your hopes up. when the time is right it will get published

I think you need to be careful because there are a lot of scams out there. Congrats on your new book and your business. Keep up the good work

Yes be careful...there are so many scam's out there...You can search out on the internet articles about how to get a book published or talk to someone who has gotten a book published and you can see what they did and how it was done. That way you will talk to someone who has gone through it. If you don't know anyone who has done it...search out someone who has a book in print, someone in your local area. Great news about your book but yes it's very smart to check carefully before jumping in with just any company because there are alot of scammers out in this world. Glad to hear you are doing so well. I am too. Life is grand right now...:) Laugh Often! Love Alot! and keep on writing!!
