    About Me

I love my cats and my man. I've had MS for 20 years now. I have a B.S. in Film and Television, minors in both History and Art, followed years later by an A.S. in Network Administration because I love computers that much. I'll stand by my friends and I'm not afraid to speak my mind, what little there is of it.

    Interests

Film without a doubt, Books when I can get my mind to follow the plot, and all manner of strange tv shows keep me enteretained. I enjoy working my on art which isn't for the public. The computer is attatched permanently, yikes!

    • Close Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
      Type: Relapsing-remitting MS

I was diagnosed in '87with MS. At first they thought I had a form of brain cancer, I had a leision the size of a triple A egg in my motor area for my right foot and ankle. It took three months for me to recover from the surgery and to get the final diagnosis, which was MS. I have been living with it for 20 years. Sometimes it gets to me other times I'm fine. But it has taking my ability to work away and that hurts. I always research every new treatment and ask my Drs about it.

      Treatments

      Antivert Working / Worked
Who knew this was meclizine? It does wonders for the vertigo and nausea.
      Avonex Working / Worked
I've been taking it since 2000, I still get achey everyonce in a while. I haven't had any new leisions since I started treatment with Avonex
      Baclofen Working / Worked
I've been using baclofen for almost 12 years. I take 9 a day now, but if I didn't I would be in pain and spasing out all over the place
      Marijuana Working / Worked
This helps my nausea and also allows me to get some sleep when my body will only let me sleep for 2 to 3 hours at a time. It helps spasms and pain.
      Massage Working / Worked
Great when my spasms have been at one spot too long. Also works out all the knots I get from cramping.
      Neurontin Working / Worked
If not for Gabapentin, I would be locked up in home somewhere for the insane. One of the best meds I've been prescribed since being diagnosed. Works great for the pain
      Physical Therapy Working / Worked
Helps me a lot, especially water pt.
      Swimming Working / Worked
I love swimming. Just wish I had some time to go.
      Writing Working / Worked
I've been journalling pretty much my whole life. But really started at it again this past year, because it was my only outlet with my symptoms. Sorry about spelling not my strong point. Now I'm just looking for support groups.
      Zanaflex Working / Worked
I take this at night to deal with spasms the Baclofin doesn't help. I don't have the sever cramps at night like I used to because of Zanaflex
    • Close Alzheimer's Disease
      Stage: Early Onset

My Mom is in the begining stages of this disease. I have no idea how to handle this.

      Treatments

      Aricept Not Working
She has been on this for about a year and it may be slowing it down, but not much.
      Namenda Somewhat Helpful
      She just started this med.
      Exelon Somewhat Helpful
Since the Aricept seemed to not work, Dr changed her to this, which is working better than the Aricept
