Journal Entry for July 10, 2008
Another pound gone. YEAH!!!!
I am married have four children, 4 step-children and 4 grand daughters. No I'm not that old, I just married an older man. I became a grandma at 37 when I remarried. Although I don't have a full time job I have a teaching degree and hope to some day have a "real" job instead of substitute teaching. My children are so busy with X-country, football, soccer, golf, dance (competitions and classes four nights a week), band, winter color guard, and homework I don't have the time to work full time. My kids come first. They will only be adolescents once and I don't want to lose that time. I love being able to support them and don't regret being a stay at home mom that works occasionally. Surgery date is January 16. Looking forward to the new me.
My favorite activity is camping. It is a time to get away from it all and enjoy my family. We go biking, take walks, and go fishing. I also enjoy gardening, music, and doing Sudoku puzzles.

I have been over weight my entire life so I made the decision to have weight loss surgery. I had a vertical sleeve gastrectomy on January 16, 2008. Although I was really scared it was a good decision for me. I already feel so much better.
I married for the first time at the age of 21 after graduating from college. The first five years was good, then after kids my husband got jealous because of the time I spent with our children. He became an alcoholic and we got divorced after 15 years. I met someone and remarried 1.5 years later. Too soon now I have the same problems, minus the alcoholism, that I had before. Husband was very attentive to my needs at first now he takes me for granted.
Was diagnosed with Meniere's about 6 years ago. Have had it much longer but didn't know what it was. I would have major bouts of vertigo and no one took the time to figure out why. Just told me it was an inner ear infection. Glad to know what it is, but wish there was something that could be done.
