He said that constantly pointing it out when he feels I am wrong about something is his way of helping me to be well grounded. Can you believe that? And that I argue because I don't like the truth I am hearing from him! I am a scientist, I change my mind all the time when new facts are presented to me. But if they are presented to me as in, shame on your for thinking the opposite of me, then I may not be so open minded. I may in fact ague for my point, not for it to be right, but for it not to be a stupid idea, but that will then be seen as if I am not accepting/considering new facts. I just don't like to be shamed for something I thought. I argue that I am not deserving of this sham that is being put on me. If there were no shame, like "Hey great idea, but did you consider this?" then I would be all gung ho about incorporating this new information to create a new idea closer to the truth I am looking for.
