We have been keeping up with Gustav and saw today had weakened to cat 1 or 2, am thankful for that for your sake and etc in Lou., Miss. and Tex. Judyl. gave me a headsup about you and etc down that way...I am just partly into DS..have problems sending unless person shows up in area I can access..been this way quite sometime..????never gets better, doug sends messages but not help. Prayers also for all the people who had to leave the coast and may be flooded yet. Take care!! Evie

Close Celiac Disease
I was diagnosed with DH 3 yrs.7 mos. and Celiac 3 yrs 5 mos.ago. I have been on a gluten-free diet since April 14,2004. It is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. I am doing fine now except when I unknowingly consume gluten--then the itching, burning and painful blisters are here again. Never had too much intestinal problems to complain about. I am from south Louisiana which is Cajun Country with its delicious food that I can no longer eat.
Treatments
- Dapsone Working / Worked
- I only begun this drug 2 1/2 years ago. I was afraid to use it, but the itching and burning on my entire skin surface was unbearable.
- Gluten Free Diet Working / Worked
- This is one of the hardest diets to follow. It was so hard to learn and so much to remember. My husband and I have always enjoyed eating out. I haven't given it up but its difficult. The seafood here is so abundant and I enjoyed eating the fried platters at a restaurant. Now I eat grilled fish and a salad.
Close Fibromyalgia
I was diagnosed in 1990 a few months after a car accident. It seemed that my health went down hill after that. Not realizing until 3 years ago that Fibro was a symptom of Celiac Disease. Doctors never caught that one in 1990.It is better since I have started the Gluten-Free diet.
Treatments
- Elavil Working / Worked
- I have been taking 25mgs for years now to help my sleep. I have learned that fibro affect our sleep patterns and in turn we wake with muscle pain.
- Gluten Free Diet Working / Worked
- I am a Celiac-is this why I have fibromyalgia???
- Massage Working / Worked
- My husband purchased me my own massage chair and it sits in my bedroom. Whenever I have a flair-up I lay in it for two 15 minute treatment and it helps me trememdously-puts me to sleep!!
