About Me
I was born with Erb's Palsy. This is palsy caused by the forceps used during delivery when the doctor pinches the nerves of the Bracial Plexius. My entire left side including face was affected but now just my left arm. I have partial use of the arm and hand. I'd like to meet parents with young babies who still have a chance to get help and adults with my same condition. It is more rare now due to C-Sections for large babies like I was. Chronic depression for my entire adult life! Married to a Manic Depressive, not diagnosed until 3 years after we were married. Life can be real difficult. I can no longer work due to multiple disabilities, the major problem being my RSD. I have difficulty sleeping or sleep too much! I have to nap during the day. I suffer from sweats, cold, sweats. My pain doctor confirmed that indeed have Fibromyalgia on Nov. 17, 2007. I also have bursitis in my hips and on the left side, an iliac problem. I'm constantly fatigued and never want to do anything. I lost my mom when I was a baby so I have no memories of her at all. I have always had a hole in my life for the woman who gave birth to me. It hurts so much to see how close other mothers and daughters are. I had a step mom who never treated me the same as her kids with my dad. I always felt like an outsider, never belong anyplace. Now I'm married and my husband is close to his mom calling 2-3X/day and it drives me crazy; I think I am jealous they are so close. The subject of my mom was hush-hush while I was growing up. I tried to speak to a counselor when we had coverage but was blown off. I lost my dad in my 30's, but for some reason, I can accept that? Lost father-in-law and friend within a week of each other in August 2007. Christian.

My starting weight should have been 247, but I can't see how to change it? I bought a new scale and found out the old one was not working …

Hug
a big hug from one RSD sufferer to another
Prayer
Deadliest catch is a pretty wild show. I ahven't had to deal with anything as bad as the seas those guys go through.... yet. Perhaps someday, but the money isn't there yet to give me incentive enough to risk my life for something I'm allergic to, and more than likely I'll never brave those waters. Thanks for thinking of me. How has your life ben treating you? I hope well, but if not, know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I still try and remember everyone here who I consider friends when I say my prayers, but to be honest, sometmes I do slip. You're back in my thoughts though, so consider yourself cared for, even if it is from a great distance. The Cap'n
Flower
and a happy Mother's Day to you also.

Close Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy
I have been diagnosed for about 7 years after tearing a ligament in my ankle. My RSD is now in both legs and spreading. I have a dorsal column stimulator for just about 5 years now. I used Oxycondone until 4 months ago when I could no longer afford it.
Treatments
- Morphine Working / Worked
- Nerve Blocks Somewhat Helpful
- The nerve blocks for me worked for a short amount of time.
- Topamax Somewhat Helpful
- I take Topamax more for Migraines, but I think it has helped with my RSD.
Close Obesity
High Weight was 298 in April 2006. Current weight - 241. I was not obese until I hit my 20's and got out on my own. I think I gained weight because I no longer had anyone telling me "NO" and I was able to eat when, where and what I wanted to eat. I also had a 24/7 job, so eating on the run and a choice of fast foods added pounds quickly! Gathering w/friends always involved food too.
Treatments
- Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Working / Worked

- Slim-Fast Not Working
- Slim fast never made a difference in my weight.
- Swimming Somewhat Helpful
- Walking in the water.
- Topamax Not Working
- I don't take Topamax for my weight, but for migraines and I have not seen a weight loss at all.
- Weight Watchers Somewhat Helpful
- Weight Watchers basically worked for me while I was attending the meetings! I lost 70 lbs. but after I left, I gained it ALL back plus some!
