About Me
I am a 51 yr old Mother of 4. single and loving it. (Truthfully, it is alittle lonely, but at least I have my 4 kids and 9 grandkids!) I like to read, play on the computer, and I love to go to yard sales.
Interests
Reading, watching movies, ( I like comedies...the cornier the better. Laughing is so good for us.) I collect movies, both DVD and VHS. I have a cow collection. They are all over my house. (Not the real, mooing, four legged ones of course.) I used to draw and play the guitar. It has been years since I did either of those activities. Maybe, I'll take it up again...who knows?

Close COPD & Emphysema
I am 51 years old. I smoked for 30 years. I quit in 2003. I was sick with a cold for 2 and 1/2 months last year and my COPD advanced from mild to moderately severe. I also have Cor Pulmonale and Sleep Apnea. Last year I lead a normal life... now everything is different.
Treatments
- Advair Working / Worked
- Works ok.
- Albuterol Somewhat Helpful
- I have been on this med a very long time,
- Celexa Working / Worked
- for anxiety during periods of extreme breathlessness.
- Combivent Working / Worked
- works
- Duoneb Working / Worked
- I use this in a nebulizer. It works very well.
- Oxygen Working / Worked
- works good for breathing! Which i like to do!
- Singulair Working / Worked
- I have been on singular for years. I definitely know if I miss a dose. I immediately begin to have asthma attacks.
Open Sleep Apnea
I have asthma and copd for years. My pulmonary doc referred me for a sleep study. Sure enough my O2 levels drop to 60% when I am sleeping. I use a Bipap machine with oxygen connected to it.

- CPAP Working / Worked
- Works awesome now. Lots of good sleep. Hate sleeping with a mask.
Open Heart Failure
I developed CorPulmonale, better known as a form of CHF as a result of my COPD. I also have Sleep Apnea and Asthma and depression....Heck with all that who wouldn't be depressed!
