Congrads on Gavin using the potty, big step. :) Is your son taking any meds? I wouldn't normally mention it, but my son was recently more than I could handle and he started meds and things have improved.
My 2 1/2 year daughter was just diagnosed in January 07 and we are new to all of this too. Slowly we are coming to accept all of it and realize that no matter what we do not love her any differently. Just know that we are all here for each other or we would have never signed up for this site. If you need to chat let me know.
Gavin was just diagnosed with autism yesterday. We had our concerns by the time he was about 18 months when he wasn't showing any interest in wanting to communicate at all. We had used sign language from the time he was born because our oldest was learning it for our neice and nephew who are both profoundly deaf,it was a great 2nd language for them to have. Soon after that the behavioral problems started.
Our son Gavin is a soon to be 3 year old that was recently diagnosed with autism. We are trying to kep his life as normal as possible but some days are harder than others. He has severe behavioral issues which go with his disorder. He functions between a 12-18 month old level on most daily activities but his motor skills are age appropriate.
