Ever leave me alone!lol This is the first time the computor would let me on here kept saying I wasn't connected. So that made me cranky.
Yesterday aft. was watching tv and there was a big bang on living room window, after I peeled myself from the ceiling looked and there was a hawk trying to get a grip on the window ledge. Went over and looked and holy shit are they big up close! At the very least 18 inches high. Kept looking out for a couple of hrs and watched it as it wandered in front yard. Then it disappeared so went looking for it, it had just moved down the fence. Later took dog out and it was sitting on the top of the fence, now my dog weighs under ten lbs so this is a concern. Tried to shoo it away but it was not scared of me at all so threw some thin wood chunks at the fence to try to scare it away but no, but the second one hit it in the head and I felt so bad thinking I may have hurt it. No way it didn't even flinch. So had to take dog out on other side of the house for the nite. This am looked on fence it was gone so opened the door and dog ran out, thank god he never left the deck because the damned thing was right beside the steps just watching us. Quickly got dog and put him in the house and walked over to try once again to scare it away but it just gave me a piss off look and stood there.
Got neighbor and he got his gloves and a blanket to throw over it and wouldn't you know it before we got back it was gone. lol
Came in house and slammed my hand in the damned door klutz. Wasn't too bad thank heavens.
Also it has been in the high 90's since Sun and will continue for a couple more days so that doesn't make me happy. Can't even breath out there.
I am enjoying having the bed to myself though so that is good. Glad I could get on here to try to catch up though.

I understand about them damn hawks. i use to live in the country. I'm glad U and Zeus r okay. Be careful. hugs,tedi p.s. i hope that hawk doesn't come back, or I'd pick up Zeus and run in the house and lock the doors, those darn things are right scarey.

Ok, so I am a naturalist but cause I luv ya I won't tell you off about throwing lumps of wood at the hawk...though I think you slamming your hand in the door is karma!!!LOL I understand your fear over Zeus being attacked though.
The DAMN HEAT!!!!!!!!! I am hardly able to breathe either. I will be gald to see the Autumn leaves. And no net whilst alone...how have oyu coped.

Well it's getting back to HOT here too & I understand completely about the hawk. When we first moved here & I had the 3 little Yorkies, I never thought about hawks & owls until one night when I took them out to do their nightly duty & this HUGE owl swooped down & tried to carry off Mimi...needless to say this scared me to death & from then on, I was outside with a gun in case there was another such attack. Living in the middle of nowhere so long now, we have seen owls pick up our half grown cats & try to carry them off & the coyotes & wolves running across the street going after calves etc...cats & dogs...nighttime is carefully monitored if dogs need to go out. Glad you survived & hope your hand is ok. Take care & HUGS for safer animal encounters...lol
