    About Me

I am in the medical field. Jan 12, 2007 I lost my husband to AML Leukemia. I am so greatful for DS, I have met some of the nicest people I have ever known. I have a 12 year old son, and very active with the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society. If I can help just one person beat AML, a piece of my mission is satisfied. My mission is to someday find a cure for AML, so no one has to loose the fight so young.

    Interests

Caring for people is one of my big interests, If I can make 1 person smile once a day, that is rewarding.

My husband was diagnosed with AML Leukemia on Dec 26. He underwent 7 days of chemo to try and get him into remission, for eventually he would need a bone marrow transplant. He was done with the chemo, and developed a c difficile infection in the stomach, and cmv virus which led to organ failure and other complications , sepsis, because the chemo wiped out his bone marrow cells, and he couldnt fight infection. He passed away on Jan 12.

My husband was diagnosed On Dec 26 with AML,when the typing came back he had M2 with Chromosnal abnormality of the trisomy 8 chromosone, which the doctor told me if he was just M2, he would of probably been cured, but with the defect, the outlook was grim. Even though 7 days of chemo was done, infection and othe complications occured,He lost his battle at age 49 on Jan 12, 3 weeks after the diagnosis.
