About Me
I am in the medical field. Jan 12, 2007 I lost my husband to AML Leukemia. I am so greatful for DS, I have met some of the nicest people I have ever known. I have a 12 year old son, and very active with the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society. If I can help just one person beat AML, a piece of my mission is satisfied. My mission is to someday find a cure for AML, so no one has to loose the fight so young.
Interests
Caring for people is one of my big interests, If I can make 1 person smile once a day, that is rewarding.

Support Groups
Close Bereavement
Type: Loss of a Partner/SpouseMy husband was diagnosed with AML Leukemia on Dec 26. He underwent 7 days of chemo to try and get him into remission, for eventually he would need a bone marrow transplant. He was done with the chemo, and developed a c difficile infection in the stomach, and cmv virus which led to organ failure and other complications , sepsis, because the chemo wiped out his bone marrow cells, and he couldnt fight infection. He passed away on Jan 12.

Close Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML)
Stage: M2My husband was diagnosed On Dec 26 with AML,when the typing came back he had M2 with Chromosnal abnormality of the trisomy 8 chromosone, which the doctor told me if he was just M2, he would of probably been cured, but with the defect, the outlook was grim. Even though 7 days of chemo was done, infection and othe complications occured,He lost his battle at age 49 on Jan 12, 3 weeks after the diagnosis.
Treatments
- Cytarabine Not Working
- The chemo killed all cells in the blood including good cells, infection was the enemy and it won
