Close Myasthenia Gravis
I had just gotten married, I was working full-time and all of a sudden my limbs were not working. I was brushing my hair and my arms kept getting tired so fast, I couldn't keep them up. When I would try brushing my teeth it was like my arms wouldn't work. I could't get the water to my mouth. My arms would shake and feel so heavy. It has truly changed my life. I can no longer work. I barely do house work. I have scars from all the times I have fallen. I'm scared when I'm home alone.
Treatments
- IVIG Working / Worked
- It helps me short term, but the side effects are hard. I get a rash on my hands and fingers and it takes forever to go away.
- Mestinon Working / Worked
- It works but I am still having problems. I find myself weak before my next dose is due.
- Thymectomy Too Soon to Tell
- My doctors say no since I don't have the tumor, but that might change if I don't get stronger
