i got me some daily strength!!! Mood

It's official!  I finally got my DS shirt & I love it.  I wore it this weekend as I faced a challenge and I swear it gave me strength...

I snaked my bathtub for the first time ever....with success!!!  I guess its one of those things that homeowners eventually learn how to do. It was  a great feeling spending $15 on a snake Vs $200 on a plumber.  And an even greater feeling stepping out of my comfort zone to face a challenge head on...

It's still amazing to me after practicing this for so many years and teaching it to clients how stepping out of ones comfort zone and into the fire decreases anxiety and builds confidence.  I love that....

hmmm... maybe we better not tell Doug that I wore my beautiful brand new DS shirt to snake the tub!!!

Think about wearing the shirt inside-out. That way you won't get the lettering all messed up. Hopefully, Doug will never know the difference! LOL

I know what you mean. I faced a challenge today giving a 50th birthday party for my step daughter. Even though it was just family I was very nervous and it was difficult for me but I did it and everything turned out wonderful. It's very liberating to overcome areas that have controlled you for so long. I took a ggiant step today hurray for me.......

Back in the Saddle *Gulp* Mood
Wednesday, March 19, 2008

I was not expecting to be nervous last night.  But I was.... Last week I felt so great that I didn't freak out when my horse did.  I didn't think about it again all week until I got on the horse last night.  Suddenly, I felt vulnerable and my irrational thoughts started flowing such as..."well this horse thing has been fun but maybe I need to stop this nonsense now" & "I feel like I can fall off the horse ... there's nothing holding me in the saddle."  Then the visions came of me being thrown off the horse and being trampled (my dramatic side was flairing ; >).  Well I didn't bump myself up 10% for my irrational thoughts, although they were getting rather creative.

The 10% was for dealing with my irrational thoughts, talking it out with my trainer and focusing on the rational thoughts. Most of all I "walked through the fire,"  I stayed on the horse until the anxiety passed!  WooHoo!!!

Also put the bridal on for the first time...  soon I will be able to tack without help....

The best way to handle fear is to come face-to-face with it, which you did. Winning should have given you a strong dose of empowerment. Nice going!

Rejecting the monologue of irratonal fear.

Ahhh, tacking up is pretty easy, it is picking the back hoofs that makes me a bit nervous.
