   funny you write about this..being raised old school on East Coast I grew up with a lot of superstition.
   Step on a crack - break your Mama's back.
   Don't walk under ladders, two friends walking around oppposites of light pole..saying bread and butter
   Babies can't go out until they are baptized Italians believe someone can give them the evil eye (who would be that mean?)
   Knock on wood,saying something same time as a friend requires the word "jinx" lol
