I’m With You
Good Luck
you know, it hasn't affected our sex life in the least bit .. it's what you make of it. but give yourself time to get over the shock. I actually feel better now that I'm on meds. I didn't know I felt bad before, lol. but all of a sudden I realize my stomach doesn't hurt (I thought I ate too much or something too fatty) nor do I feel tired a lot. so good luck to you! you'll be okay. promise.
Hug
hi
Hug
Lisa, so sorry!!! It is shocking to hear it for the first time. I got the news when I was pregnant with my 2nd baby (had 3). I don't know where I got it BUT I suspect my ex husband since he had many, many sexual partners. I, like you, only had a few. That test was 12 years ago. Then it "disappeared" for a few years and I tested positive again this year. Well, in between, I remarried but my husband never got it. I apparently have chronic Hep B so I'll have it for the rest of my life. I started treatment and it's already showing vast improvements. Your fiance should be vaccinated. Was he tested? can't remember. Anyway, he should go with you to see a hepatologist, not a PCP. A hepatologist knows the latest and greatest treatments. After my hepatologist started treating me, my PCP called and asked about the treatment. When I told him I was on Hepsera, my PCP had never heard of it. I so believe in going to specialists ... If your insurance covers you, go to a hepatologist. You are grieving right now but don't let this stop you. It's okay to cry and feel odd because, well, it's not pleasant news. But life does go on, there are treatment options, and you can live a normal, fulfilled life. Good luck.
