not so typical weekend Mood
Monday, May 12, 2008 | A General Update story

Of course mister was a pain in my ass on Friday night.  Had plans to go see an old friend's 80's cover band play at a local pub about a mile from our house.  He didn't want to go of course and punished me for going, but only after I was there and having a good time.  I try to 'understand' that this is his own anxiety and that it really has nothing to do with me but really, he is a HUGE ass baby and it is nonsense.  He wakes the next morning and wants to be all lovey dovey.  Are you kidding me?  But I got up, went and worked out and made myself a better mood before returning home.

Saturday afternoon my mom, sister and I say the scrap arts music show called Phunk and then had a nice lunch.  Not largely interesting or extrodianrily fun time and actually it seemed somewhat forced which is weird.  I dunno what was going on there.

Saturday night we were supposed to take it easy and go and see a movie but instead we eneded up babysitting hub's old friend M.S.  I find it terribly strange that mister can choose to sit in a bar with an old drinking buddy and watch sporting events for hours but he can't catch a band for an hour.  Hmmmfp.  I'll just chalk it up to hmmfp.  Well, anywho, M.S. has been sad lately - fighting with his chick and his dad has been very ill.  M.T. was lit up like a firecracker before we arrived to pick him up at his local watering hole at 4PM.  We hung for a while there until he got so beligerent that he was M-fing the 5 people in the place.  Funny, in a converstion with the bartender while smoking outside he said, "M's getting a little out of control; he does this every weekend and I'll have to kick him out."  I offered, "Really?  I think if you'd stop serving him shot after shot after shot you may not have to be in this position to kick him out.  He does come here all the time and you know him well, right?"  The bartended just smiled at me and went back inside and guess what, poored M.S. another shot and beer that my hubs offered to pay for....Stupid I know.  We made our way to another location where I wanted to eat and they could watch the game.  M.S. was just too far gone to stay so we ordered to go and took him home with us.  Which was fine of course.  M.S. was obviously too sad and out of control at this stage to leave him anywhere and to his own devices (they weren't on) - I would have felt terrible if he got into some trouble or hurt after leaving him knowing he was in that shape.  Thank fully he didn't fight us on it, well, not really badly and once he ate he passed out nicely on our couch for the night.  *shaking head*  We should have gone to a movie.

Sunday was pretty uneventful too.  It was cold and rained all damn day.  We visited hub's mom and she gave me a bag of clothes which is the dumbest most wierd attempt at highlighting our size difference.  Seriously friends, if I was a size 4 we couldn't trade clothing.  I'm nearly 5'9" and she is barely 5'4".   I just thanked her and I'll drop them off at the local thrift store today.

That's about all folks.

Good for you for going to work out before lobbing off his head! It takes a lot to do that sometimes! And nothing like taking care of a depressed and beligerent drunk person for a night...Well, it's Monday so may it be as uneventful as your weekend!

Ah well, yes babies often do like cuddling after cranky moods. And that bartender's smile... well he knows how to put the cash in his register doesn't he! Let me guess, he'd kick the guy out after it was evident no more bills would be put down or until he got to feisty to handle safely. The bartender was warning you what was about to come next so you could plan how you wanted to deal with it.
And oy does that monster-in-law love to zap you, doesn't she!
