Close Breakups & Divorce
I am a 30 year old female going through a divorce with two children, 5 and 6, and looking for support and others to talk to about things related to divorce.
Close Chronic Pain
Have four herniated lumbar discs, 3 with severe annular tears. Been in pain for the past 8 years, 24/7.
Treatments
- Chiropractic Adjustment Not Working
- went through 1 year of this, never helped, but was led to believe "i needed a bit more time". i was paying cash, so i think i was being ripped off.
- Cymbalta Too Soon to Tell
- Flexeril Working / Worked
- worked for about 2 or 3 months, back 8 years ago when i first was injured.
- Heat Working / Worked
- Hydrocodone Working / Worked
- worked minimally when i started needed opiates for pain control, about 5 years ago.
- Lidoderm Not Working
- very expensive, didn't help much at all, except to cool me down sometimes.
- Lyrica Not Working
- never worked, made my hands numb.
- Morphine Working / Worked
- this is what I am on now. after the first week of adjustment, it has worked better than oxycontin and the rest of meds i was on, however i think sometimes it triggers my migraines.
- Naproxen Working / Worked
- worked 8 years ago for about 6 months when i was first injured and the docs thought i "just had a little strain".
- Nerve Blocks Not Working
- never worked. put me in the hospital with spinal leaksd
- Oxycodone Working / Worked
- tried it for about 2 years, but it made me feel like i was going through withdrawal always before my next dose, and escalating doses by my docs did not work.
- Physical Therapy Not Working
- never worked, just made my pain worse.
- TENS Working / Worked
- i use this every so often when i know i'll be on a long trip, long car ride, or be out for a long day.
- Topamax Not Working
- this stuff left me feeling, more than ANY opiate i have ever tried, gorked out of my mind...tingling of my mouth, hands, feet, was stuporous (people thought i was drunk), it was horrible. made everything taste like metal, too.
Open Migraine Headaches
Have had migraines since childhood, increasing in intensity. Still trying to this day to find something to prevent them, I have around 15/month.
Treatments
- Axert Working / Worked
- worked at first, without the "floating" feeling I get from the other triptans, however it didn't work long.
- Maxalt Working / Worked
- this is my mainstay for the abortives. sometimes if i take it for every migraine, i build a bit of a tolerance to it and have to take a break for a while. i use the tablets cause the MLT ones taste like peppermint which makes me so nauseated when I have a migraine.
- Midrin Working / Worked
- first thing that I ever took, worked a tiny bit, took the edge off.
- Relpax Not Working
- this stuff just completely made me crazy, i wanted to crawl out of my skin
- Topamax Not Working
- tried this, but it made everything taste so horrible and made me a zombie. everyone thought i was doped up when i took it.. and it never helped the migraines.
Open Depression
Type: Clinical (Major) DepressionHave had major depression that tends to wax and wane but never completely go away, have had for over 12 years now.
Open Physical & Emotional Abuse

due to some issues in my past i have found this group. too embarrassed to share what brought me here yet.
Open Anxiety
have had anxiety since childhood and always had physical side effects from it: stomach aches, headaches, you name it. Am in therapy and trying Trileptal, Cymbalta, and Klonopin. I also use Ativan as needed.
Open Anxiety Disorders in Children
my daughter has anxiety issues for which i have put her in therapy with a child psychologist.
