I am the partner of a PA addict. He was in denial and I used to accept the little commitment he seemed to have around quitting. I finally realized that I was in denial (as much as he was)and have given him an ultimatum. We are both in recovery.
I am the partner of a PA. In the past I accepted his feeble attempts to quit and have recently realized my own denial around this. I get my contribution (through denial) and I have given him an ultimatum. I will only stand for him if he is serious about quitting and taking visible and measurable action to quit. We are both in recovery programs.
