About Me
I am a 57 year-old married woman. I suffer great pain from severe systemic osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia. I have had these conditions for 5+ years, and the pain is seriously impacting my life. I don't know exactly who to turn to or which way to go. Doctors don't want to prescribe strong pain meds, but I want my life back.

Gentle hugs. Have you thought about trying Mucinex? A close friend of mine was diagnosed 2 weeks ago w/fms. She started 600mg Mucinex the next day and one week later that her pain had decreased by over 50%! have a great week!

Close Fibromyalgia
I have fibro and OA to the extent that I can't do most of the things I used to love to do, i.e. sports with my husband, frisbee with our dog, doing household chores myself - well, you get the picture.
Treatments
- Cymbalta Not Working
- didn't make a dent in the pain
- Effexor Not Working
- same as Cymbalta
- Heat Somewhat Helpful
- helped a little bit in certain places
- Morphine Working / Worked
- MS Contin and oxycodone combo are the only treatments that work, however I do need a higher dose now
- Neurontin Not Working
- not strong enough
- Ultram Not Working
- afraid of seizures
- Physical Therapy Working / Worked
- just caused me more pain
Close Arthritis
I have OA and fibro very badly. I'm disabled and unable to do many things I used to do. I take opiates for the pain which help to the point that I can take care of myself, but I am dissatisfied with my doc and am seeking a more understanding one.

- did not work
- Glucosamine/Chondroitin Not Working
- I've been taking it for 2 years but I don't see any results
- Ibuprofen Not Working
- not strong enough; upsets my stomach
- Medrol Not Working
- made me sick
- Naproxen Not Working
- not strong enough
- Pain Management Clinic Working / Worked
- the pain meds they prescribe are all that allow me to function
- Relafen Not Working
- upset stomach
- Tylenol Not Working
- upset stomach
- Facet Joint Injection Somewhat Helpful
- worked somewhat for about a month; also were very painful
- Physical Therapy Not Working
- made me hurt all over
