Hello friends, I know that everyday in my life since I have lupus and taking this meds. Most of my days are not ok …
Hello!
Ok my Nurse called me back and said that my doc wanted me to go up again like 5 mg that would be again 15 mg a day???? He said the hurt in my ankles and the unusual tiredness comes from getting off prednisone,so after I hung up I had a good cry than called my husband at work crying like a baby...after my husband suggested to call them back....I asks the nurse if my doc wanted me to get up on preds.only because of the pain in my ankles and being tired,I rather take that than going up again on preds! So she said that she will talk to my doctor and if she has not called back I should stay on 10 mg for another 2 weeks and than call back in 2 weeks for further instrucktions.I also take Imuran it supposed to take over my preds but till that meds fully kicks in my doc said it takes about 3 mos. Well i'm taking it for almost 2 mos.now I just have to wait & see.I'm just so freaking tired of being on steroids all the stinking side effects it is not fun anymore, now the Imuran has some weird side effects too,but I have to deal with that later right now I'm focus on getting off prednisone and I'll see whats happening after that...thanx for listening again my friends!![]()

I hope they don't up it on you. Are you willing to deal with the pain and the tiredness?? I just want what's best for you. I don't want you to be sick anymore. Can this stuff ever go away? Hey, do you talk to a person called lupoid25? Just wondering. Well I hope you feel better. No more crying sweetie. Cheer up! I'm still fat and I don't even take any meds. Does that make you feel better? At least you have an excuse :0) Talk to you soon. Smile! :0)

I wish you could maybe see another doctor, I have to find another one. I love my doctor but he is being hard headed about me trying remicade, a person with my history of pneumonia would be crazy to do that. You may feel all together better if you get off the prednisone and see what happens. Ask your doctor to try that and not go up and down so much with it, that may be the problem, I always feel so much better when I do come off the steroids, see if he will let you taper down and stay off them for a while and just see what happens..good luck sweetie.

Cutey, I know your dilemma. When my doctor first tried to step me down on prednisone, within two days i literally could not walk. So we went back up on the Pred and waited a little while longer. The next time we attempted to reduce the dosage, it worked like a charm. I did not have the same reaction. It was almost as if my body was telling us that it was not quite ready to step down on the steroids. Good luck!

It sounds like "MERF" is probably right. Stepping down does make you more tired but it depends on how bad you feel. I know how frustrating it can be to be on steriods but you don't want to stop too soon either. The goal is to get healthy first.
