About Me
My husband is a pastor and I am an educator. I am the mother of Micah, a special needs 17 year old who was recently diagnosed with cancer. On Dec. 2, 2006, in the emergency room of OU Children's Hospital our lives were rocked by the news that our already fragile son had a large tumor in his pelvic region. Since that time he has had 33 weeks of chemo, a ten plus hour surgery to remove the tumor that also took his bladder, prostate, and colon; he has completed 5 weeks of radiation.

Close Rhabdomyosarcoma
My son Micah was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma on Dec. 2, 2006. A tumor the size of a small melon was removed from his pelvic region in March 2007 unfortunately he lost his bladder, prostate, and some of his large intestine leaving his more medically disabled than ever before. Micah has had multiple medical problems since birth, the cancer just added to an already complex situation.
Treatments
- Dactinomycin Working / Worked
- Micah recieves the VAC every three weeks so it is difficult to isolate which drug is causing him the most problems. Micah has lost a significate amount of weight and is not interested in eating. He is on a feeding tube. However, there is now no visable sign of cancer.
