  Your dad CAN get stronger. The Whipple can definetly give lots of time. My friend had it over 2 years ago. She is doing okay so far.

  Hi Michelle. Your dad was very fortunate to have been eligable for the whippe surgery. Although a huge surgery and recover can be challenging. Some people recover quicker than others. It's very early on for your dad so don't be discouraged. Call PanCan (California) and ask for a Pal's associate. They will send you lots fo information free. They can also recommend an experienced oncologist in your area. They can set your dad up with a buddy, someone who is going through the same thing. It can be email or phone, his choice.
