If you would like to see it, request a friendship.
Well I am back, I had so much stuff going on here wit my daughter visiting and she made as muchtrouble as possible. Then my son and hubby started fighting because she bought him cigarretts which is a big NO NO in our home and he figured since his big sis was here he would light up right in front of Hubby. Then hubby got upset with me because all the hell going on but now things are calming down.
The other night I fell down the stairs and have torn up my shoulder and bruised my ribs but it will get better. I hate this FM with a passion and wish I could get back to normal. We have decided that we are going through with the IVF apt and so tmrw we will find out if we can have a baby or not!! I hope I can keep one dream alive!!!
I have missed so many of you and sorry I had to take care of my own backyard before I could come here!!!
Hope everyone is doing well!!
Love to all

Dear Sir or Madam
On August 23, 2008 I was summoned to a SSI Medical Evaluation with one Dr. Prieve @ 16:00hrs, located at 4900 N. Litchfield Road # C2 Litchfield Park AZ 85340. After researching Dr. Prieve’s credentials my PCP and I both discovered that he was not listed on the Medical Board for the State of Arizona. We both had a concern with Dr. Prieve’s credentials and history due to the fact he could not be researched. After contacting the SSI Department I was informed he was practicing in the State of Utah. I would like to know why I was being examined by a Provider not associated with Arizona, and has the same credentials as my current PCP.
On the day of the appointment, my husband and I arrived approximately 15:40hrs. We signed in; and I was taken back by a very nice nurse. She took my vital signs then left the room. I only waited for a few minutes before I met with Dr. Prieve in the exam room.
Dr. Prieve did not introduce himself, and sat down to review my chart. He stated “Why do you think you should not be working?” I advised him as of November 8, 2007 I had been hospitalized 3 times, and deemed unable to work by my PCP due to acute uncontrolled pain, visual impairments, and inability to operate a vehicle or heavy machinery, and poor memory. At this point Dr. Prieve became hostile, abruptly stopped the interview and proceeded to tell me that he was going to start the exam. AT NO POINT did he explain what the exam was going to consist of. When I told him I might have a difficulty with some things, he responded with “Then how am I supposed to examine you if you don’t do what I tell you to.” Dr. Prieve had me do some minor things which hurt, however I made it through several tests when I began to cry from the pain. He then told me three things to remember. When it came time to recall them, I could only remember two and he seemed agitated about it. He tested my reflexes then asked if things felt the same on the right and the left. Dr. Prieve then used the pointed metal end of the reflex hammer to prod me with enough force which left me with bruises lasting on my legs and arms still to this day.
Towards the end of the exam, Dr. Prieve had me walk on my heels and toes which I could not do. Dr. Prieve then had me lie on my back and move my legs side to side and up and down. At this point, the pain was beyond what I could handle anymore. Then Dr. Prieve got up from his chair and abruptly walked out of the room. I had to ask him if the examination was over. Dr. Prieve yelled back from the hallway “Yes.” I then asked if I could leave. Dr. Prieve again yelled back “Yes” and slammed his door to his office. Dr. Prieve yelled loud enough, my husband who was in the waiting room heard. He became very upset because he could hear the pain in my voice and I was on the verge of crying. I went to the bathroom to put cold water on my face and dry my eyes and we left. We had to cancel our vacation after this do to the pain.
I called Allsup to let them know I made it to my appointment and let them know what happened. They informed me that I needed to write to you and let you know what happened; they are also going to be notifying you. Dr. Prieve has a very poor bedside manor and was very rude for not letting me speak. I was not allowed to tell Dr. Prieve about my worst symptoms – daily forgetfulness, loss of balance and severe pain. Even as I sit here typing on this computer it is sending my hands into a flare.
I felt this appointment could have been handled a lot better, and I felt more violated than anything. I have been to your other appointments and neither Providers have treated me with disrespect or harshness and pain as Dr. Prieve. You will be hearing from Allsup also on this matter since they represent me in this case, but they also wanted me to let you know what happened. I went to my appointment on Saturday afternoon and still today, Tuesday August 26, 2008, I am still hurting from him prodding me, with bruises still there today while my body is in severe pain. I hope in the future you contract a Provider with a professional bedside manor.
Thank You
Becky Glover

This letter is very well written and full of very good information on what a terrible doctor he is. I pray they pull his license..it seems like he was inflicting torture on you. I am so sorry that you had to go through that, it makes me so upset to know that you are still hurting from this. Sending you ((gentle hugs))prayers and lots of love dear friend!

wow, Becky, thats such a well written letter. Well done!!
Im sorry that you had to write it in the first place though. What a total jerk this man is, he should be struck off. He is a monster.
I hope that they sit up and listen to this letter, they need to be made aware that he is treating people like this. I wonder if you are the first to complain, or if others have. That would be interseting to know.
Im glad Mike was there with you, he can also back you up, if the doc gets funny and denies it all.
Please keep me posted.
Love ya!! xoxooxox

OMG! I am so sorry you went throught this. This makes me SICK to my stomach just hearing what he said and did to you. It really hits home with some of the ER visits I have had in the past. What the Hell is wrong with people? My heart is very saddened for you at the same time as I am outraged! Unbelieveable!

What a DICK! I hope they fine him or something. Hopefully you will feel better soon and fianlly get to move forward with your SSI. You are in my prayers!

Good job on the letter, but may I say that Allsup is not doing their job correctly if they allowed you to go to this exam without informing you of your rights prior to going. This includes the right for your husband or another witness to be present while the doctor is examining you. This cuts out a lot of rude behavior on the part of the doctor and causes them to be more aware of how they speak to you. It also covers you in case the doctor walks out and fails to finish the exam or in some cases not doing an exam at all. Make sure you keep a written record of everything you remember that was said during this exam in addition to the great letter you wrote. I have been before the ALJ for SSI and I have had numerous IME's through worker's comp, most without being represented by counsel. I did just hire an attorney for my ins carrier orderin 3 IME's in a 9 day period. Hopefully SSI will through this guys report out completely, because it doesn't sound as if its going to be favorable towards you or help you in any way. Hugs, Fern

That is the kind of doctors I have been having to deal with here in NC. It is disgusting to say the least. That is the reason I am considering a move to another state... to find better medical care. You poor girl. Good for you for writing that letter. I certainly would send a copy to the AMA, the hospital where he practices, the state medical board and to the editor of the local newspaper. I am so proud of you for fighting for your right to be treated with respect. YOU GO GIRL!!!
