Hi everyone
I am a sahm and have 3 children. I have been exercising regularly now for months(mostly low impact aerobics and light weights). I saw this group and have wanted to join for a while now, but don't know where to begin as I don't know much about yoga. I really want to make it part of my routine, but I need to be able to do it at home, so... my question is does anyone know of any good beginning dvd's for beginners? I guess I could also look on fit tv for some shows?
Anyways any advice is greatly appreciated. Mkat thanks for starting this and congrats on the new baby boy!

Rodney Yee has a wonderful basic DVD as does Shiva Rea. I started with Baptiste Power Yoga not knowing anything and that was 7 years ago. Get a book by the instructor on the DVD so you understand alignment principles. Also, Light on Yoga by Iyengar. Try to get to at least a few studio classes to check your alignment. Also, their are Kundalini DVD's by Ana Brett and Ravi Singh which are totally accessible to everyone if you don't want to start with traditional sun salutations. Enjoy the discovery! -

Welcome to the group! I think you will like it here.
I also have both Rodney Yee and Shiva Rea. Both great! I also am a big fan of Richard Freeman. I was lucky enough to take some classes from him.
I agree with AnneL, an instructor would be a good idea if you can swing a few classes. -

Oh and WELCOME! If you have any individual questions you can always message me. I have seen a few of the fit tv yoga classes and they're not so great. -

welcome!
I learned from many things in the library, but in the seventies there were no videos, only the PBS shows. The only downside of learning on your own is that you pick up bad habits and could cause more harm than good. Try to get a few classes in with a qualified teacher and study on your own, and keep at it, even if you are thinking it is difficult, just find that fun and easy part and expand from that!
