Death is nothing at all

This poem was sent to me by my sister, when I read it I felt a little better I wanted to share this in the hope that it helps someone else. Take care. x
Death is nothing at all
I have only slipped away into the next room
I am I and you are you;
Whatever we were to each other that we still are
Call me by my old familiar name, speak to me
In the easy way in which you always used
Put no difference in your tone, wear no forced air
Of solemnity or sorrow
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes
We enjoyed together
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me
Let my name be ever the household word
That it always was
Let it be spoken without effect, without the trace
Of shadow on it
Life means all that it ever meant
It is the same as it ever was
There is absolutely unbroken continuity
Who is this death but a negligible accident?
Why should I be out of mind
Because I am out of site
I am but waiting for you for an interval
Somewhere very near; just round the corner,
All is well.

Thanks so much for sharing that. It's funny, I do talk to my husband as if he's right here all the time. I think it helps manage through, at least for me.

wow - that's really beautiful - thanks so much for sharing it. I've been trying to think of it like this for the last few months to make it easier on myself and my family. I can't wait to share this with them.

I talk to my wife sometimes and it still helps ease the pain
