I don't know where to begin.

I was diagnosed with PCOS at 15 when i told the gyno that i was having painful cramps and an irregular cycle. they ended up doing a laproscopic(sp) procedure to remove the cysts that were in my ovaries. He also found that the "skin" over my ovary was as think as the tip of an ink pen when it should be as thin as a sheet of paper.
after the surgery i was scared to go back to the doctor because he put me on meds that would shrink the cysts, but instead made me very sick. So i didn't go back.
anyways i was lucky enough to get pregnant on my own, no i wasn't ttc. i was only 20 but it was a blessing since i was always told, "good luck getting pregnant" however my fiance (now dh) and i were not using protection for almost 3 year and having ALOT of intercourse at the time.
Now we have agreed to ttc after i got a new job with more money and great benefits.
I have not had a cycle since i had my son a year and a half ago. Where do i start? I have a great obgyn, but i don't even know what to ask. So i guess i'm asking for some help from you girls that have been going through this for some time for some pointers. what meds worked for you? HELP please.

Usually what happens is you tell your OB Doctor that you are having trouble conceiving and would like to be referred to a Reproductive Endocrinologist. The first step is usually an internal ultrasound to be sure you actually have PCOS, then probably meds to help with symptoms. They usually give Metformin to regulate your insulin levels, Provera to make you have a period, and Clomid to increase fertility. I hope this helps. Good luck! -

TTC is hard enough for some people but when you have PCOS it gets a whole lot harder. So I wanted a place where people TTC with PCOS can some and share storys, thoughts, and feeling on their TTC Journey.
