Pill crazy!

Posted on 05/14/08, 07:20 pm
In the last 6 months the amount of medications I'm taking has tripled...and still no ovulation. metformin daily, prometrium, clomid, now she's talking about adding a 21 day cycle of progestrone/estrogen 'cocktail' and I have an appointment with a reproductive endocrinologist in late June...I imagine he may add something to the mix as well.....Does anyone else feel like a walking medicine cabinet?
and for pete's sake, why am I still not ovulating??!?!?!

how frustrating!

I was just telling my mom about all the new pills I am taking. It is no wonder I am losing weight no room for food with all the vitamins and suplements, clomid, provera, synthroid! I have gotten to know my pharmacist too well.Good luck!

I feel the same way metformin, clomid, provera, prenatls, dexamethasone and I think I am forgetting something. You may be Clomid resistant. Are they checking you monthly for a response with a U/S? The doc put me on dexamethasone and said that this will help if you don't have a response to Clomid you talk it days 3-12. Something that is worth a try.

Yeah, I have to take a TON of medicine too. Metformin, Provera, and Clomid. Dang, I hate it, but to be honest... I would do anything to get pregnant.

Man, I thought my 3 pills a day were bad. I take metformin, levothyroxine and darvocet. Does anyone find that metformin does help with PCOS because I am skeptical about it. I also want to mention clomid to my DR and see if it could help me as well. I used to take the progestrone but found out later that it "tricks" your body to think you just had a baby which for some woman won't help to get pregnant.

For the record, we're now on 2000mg of metformin-(4 pills a day), along with 3 different vitamins (B6, B12, and 800mg (prenatal level) folic acid), with intermittant rounds of provera and clomid (150mg, so 3 pills a day when I take that)....WHEW!!!

Geez, I thought I was pill crazy just with my metformin (3x a day), prenatal vit. and folic acid. Every time I eat I am taking pills. I carry one of those daily pill organizers to make sure I don't forget a dose. Seems like I will probably have to add more to the list as I continue in my ttc journey...

I sometimes feel like a walking pharmacy. LOL. It's been like 6 weeks since my last Laparoscopy and finally getting done with all those meds. no more pain killers! yay!! thank you Catapres patch and Acupuncture!
I start Clomid tonight! I take prometrium to get my period to start, I take prenatal vitamins, a blood pressure pill, folic acid vitamins and everyone recommeds Metformin which I STRONGLY lobbied for but my obgyn wants to try (2) cycles of Clomid without it first.
