Hi Guys.

Posted on 04/06/08, 08:37 am
I'm new to internet support.. But im ready to give it a go.
Lately I have become so depressed about my weight and i've realised that everytime i try and get fitter i just end up putting on more weight than i started with, and then become less motivated.
I'm going to try and do 30 mins of walking every day.. Thus the reason i've joined your group.
I'd really like to make a friend or two on here so i can have someone for support, and hopefully, in return, support and motivate them.
I'll log on hopefully once every one or two days.
I look forward so much to hearing from someone.
:)

Know what you mean. I've been trying ever since my last child to get down to what I was before I had children. I kept telling myself it was baby fat. The baby is now over 20 years old. So that is no longer an excuses. There's a group on the Fitness and Exercise group who have a goal of 75 miles by June 5. I just started want to join me?

But yes, I would love to contribute. When i do go out for walks i normaly walk at least 3kms.. not sure how that mesures in miles?

The stepper sounds like a good workout. Not sure but manybe you could figure out long it takes you normally to walk a mile or km. Say it's 15 min. Then every 15 min you're on the stepper would count as a mile or km. One mile equals 1.62 km. So two miles would be roughly 3.24 km. Hope this helps. I've managed to get in 4 miles this weekend. Hope I don't wimp out.

I bought a portable stepper. I can't use it like walking in the park. My legs can't hold that long. I have to stop and start. It gives me more energy for some reason. I realize when I was walking at the park that walking alone isn't going to be the only thing to help me drop pounds. I have to initiate a diet also. With walking I feel, good fit and healthy. But my weight isn't good so I have to do more. Lately the weather has been crap and I don't like walking in cold rain. This can be discouraging.

Hi and welcome to the group. I know this welcome is a little late but oh well. Anyways, I recently purchased a walking kit that includes a DVD at home walking workout and a CD with an outdoor walking workout on it. I love it alot. It keeps me motivated and energized. I also wear a pedometer daily. That keeps me motivated as well.

I need to get a pedometer. I try to walk daily, if I don't I make sure to use my elliptical. I love that machine.

I have used the Walk Away the Pounds tapes.

Welcome
