Christmas, Barbie, life could not be any better. I was a crazed Barbie doll lover. Move over Chatty Cathy, Patty Playpal Barbie ruled. When my bestfriend and I played Barbies at the beach, we took their heads off because Barbie's hair had to be perfect at all times. Nothing compared with her tiny little eyeglasses and real zippers, buttons and snaps on all her clothes. All the great outfits and all the great people we could make her out to be. She went to space, became a doctor a dancer anything we thought of Barbie could do it.
OK, some years later Barbie became controversial because of her teenie-tiny waist, and was fair fodder for some women who claimed she was a bad influence on girls.
Yeah I guess I, "went along to get along", with these gals but secretly I loved Barbies and I always will.

oh, yes, I remember getting my first Barbie Dolls for Christmas...it was a set of 3, one blonde, one brunette and one redhead....I was very young & used to brush their hair & dress them up for hours! The in about the 5th grade, my friends & I would have "Barbie Parties" hauling all our Barbies & their clothes, etc. from house to house...so much fun. -
