I feel ya!
My daughter is almost 7, and has a first grade standing homework assignment to do a reading journal every night... she is supposed to read for 15 minutes Monday-Thursday, and then bring in the paper on Friday.
Every day after school its the same exhausting exchange.
Can I watch a show?
Not until after you do your homework.
Can I go on the computer?
Not until after you do your homework.
Can I play with my dollhouse? (the small parts are stored out of reach)
Not until after you do your homework.
Can I watch Noggin?
ugh. We've already covered this. Not until after you do your homework. (Like I am going to be fooled into saying yes to TV if she reframes it as "Noggin")
Can I have a snack?
Your snack is in your backpack. Eat it.
BUT I don't want that.
tough.
Can I watch show?
Are you kidding me?!?!?!?!
YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT ME!
and all this from a child who is quick to tell anyone that READING is her favorite subject!
Boy, I'm really looking forward to the algebra homework. not.
PMS is going to be a real bitch with this one.

Do you ever feel like that is what you say all day long? My three year old has been drving me nuts lately. She just learned how to bang her fists on the floor when she doesn't get her way. Where do they get that from? So here we go again with a new stage...LOL...with a lot more no's!

My other daughter is 7 and that sounds so much like her! She says almost the same thing!
Can I watch tv?
Not until your homework is done.
Can I watch Fetch with ruff ruffmen (her fav show now)?
I already told you not until your homework is done.
But you didn't already tell me I couldn't watch Fetch.
I said no tv until homework is done.
I don't know what my homework is.
Yes you do...it's right here.
Can I just take a quick break and play on the computer?
No you have to do your homework first and if you ask me if you can do anything else besides your homework I will give you a new homework assignment!
You didn't give me a drink with my snack mommy.

Oh one of my least favorite is "Come on hurry up we're going to be late" I am so tired of saying this. why do we have to be in such a hurry all of the time? -

I can only imagine what it is going to be like when my twins are that age (they are 5 1/2 months now). I can see it now... I'll be getting each question twice, one will distract me while the other runs to turn the tv, computer, radio, etc. on. Lord help me! -

I am the older sister to twins and my mom had some stories!!! She said one would turn on the water in the bathtub and the other would take off running with a shap object. She would have to think which twin was going to listen faster and what was the greater threat. Hang in there! :))) -

Yep, right there with ya. My son is 3, and he just started that stage too. He is really testing me lately with his attitude. He will even occasionally slip in a cuss word when he doesn't think I'm listening to see what I'll do. It's like a warm-up exercise for the teenage years. But hey, at least he's still an angel in public and around family when we visit. -

my three year olds dont ask any more they just do it. if they werent down for there nap right now i would be practicly stalking them. Yesterday I had to use the facilities and when I went looking for them they were on the counters and flour was poured all over the kitchen(even with baby gates) Justin was trying to get to the nobs on the stove. needless to say I sent them outside (back yard, i figure it will get them out of my hair) and then cleaned up the kithen and put flour on the list of stuff to get at the store. then my 5yr old gets home and we get in an argument over doing her homework or waiting till after dinner. bedtime is even worse cause the twins (Henry and Justin) are running everywhere so they dont have to go to bed. when i finnaly get them in bed its after timeouts and they are so poofed out that they fall asleep instantly. and i am pregnant with TWO more right now. if they dont kill me i dont know what will.
