I find that the best thing for me is to take a step back from the situation and try to rationally appraise it. I have a thing about thinking people are staring at me, so I look around to see exactly who is staring at me, and usually, people are just going around their own business. :) I use that in conjunction with the breathing!!!

HELP am returning to work full time on monday!

After being signed off work for a year and a half with anxiety i am finally returning back to work tommorow. I did volunteer work for 9 months up till now so i have got used to being around people in work enviornments but i know it is going to be different this time.The panic hasnt set in yet but im sure it will come monday morning! Can anyone offer any suggestions as to what i can do to keep me relaxed when i am there. I iknow about the breathing techniques i can do , but is there anything else i can do? thanks. Lisa

I try to remind myself that I'm probably not the most anxious person in the room. When I worked in retail I always tried to connect with the customer's that seemed anxious. By putting them at ease it helped me overcome my anxiety even if it only lasted for a short amount of time (20min lol). I have no idea what type of environment you'll be working in but remember you have 228 members cheering for you, best of luck!
