Testomony of sorts

My whole life has been one tribulation after another. I remember a few years ago crying out to God for Mercy and begging Him to give me a break from all the problems that were constantly raining on me. I was homeless at the time. I was so desperate that I clung to God like never before and he pulled me through. I knew that I was only getting a break and that tribulations would visit me again. What are tribulations; but a tool for God to test us and/or grow us. So I got smart. I started praying for the next tribulation that would come into my life. You may think I'm crazy but I'm not. I prayed that God would grow my faith, and strengthen me so that I would stay true and not falter. It works. Believe it or not I do trust God much more than I use to. Yes I had a breakdown over the business but I don't worry as much as I did. And I honestly don't think I had the breakdown for only one reason. Before I always worried we would get sued. After all we live in a sue happy society. And we did. And we won the lawsuit. After all that's why we have insurance. I'm getting off track. I pray all the time that God will grow my faith and let me tell you I consider that a scary thing to do....after all it's through tribulatins most times that God teaches us and grows us. But here is the thing...to stop praying for these things and believing God will do them, sets you up for Satan to get his foot in the door. Personally I need to seal every crevice I can!
Have you ever prayed for strength and faith to withstand the next tribulation in your life?

I guess in a round about way I do. I do pray for increased knowledge and understanding of His Word, His purpose for my life and to grow in Christlike character, to have the strength to withstand the evil one (Satan). Now I know that a lot of that will only come through times of trial and testing. So in a way I am praying for the next time of trial. -

I, too, have prayed for wisdom and knowledge beyond my years to help me deal with life. I have never really thought to pray for the next tribulation in my life. I have always rolled with the punches, sort of speak, and got down on my knees in the midst of the turmoil and poured my heart out. I guess we all could use a little prayer 101!!!!
