In the last year and a half I have gotten into reading Karen Kingsbury books. I absolutely love her!!! Just recently my daughters got me into Terri Blackstock. I have to admit though, nobody beats Karen in my eyes. I was just wondering who you all like.

I have not read Beverly LaHayes but I certainly know of her. Someday I will. I have read Francine River's "The Scarlete Dress" and did indeed enjoy it. My pastor even read that with his high shcool daughter! I still like Karen's better - I guess more modern times. -

Francine Rivers...'The Lion Series' is her best, but if you like the more modern stuff you may not like it as it is back in the times of Roman biblical times.
The big controversial book out right now is "THE SHACK" It is fabulous in my book. The author wrote it for his kids. Its a story about his daughter (fictional here) getting kidnapped and killed. Several years later God sends him a letter in his mail box to meet him in the mountains and at the very shack she was murdered in. He isn't sure if it is God or the killer (who was never captured). But the letter was signed: God. The book really takes God out of the box and answers the time aged questions 'why'. People object to the way he takes God out of the box. But after reading the whole thing, it makes perfect since. I loved it.
